It’s that time of year again, if you haven’t done so already make sure to take advantage of your right to a free credit report from the three credit bureaus.
In the past we have posted the phone numbers for each agency and you have to would call each one to get your free report if you lived in certain states. It is now free in all states once per calendar year.
Credit Report:
They have finally made a standardized website that allows you to get all three reports online. It asks for your basic info once and then takes you to each of the three sites one by one.

I had this long 30' ethernet cable connecting my remote hub in the home office with my Cable Modem and Wireless Router downstairs. For years I considered drilling holes through walls and ceilings but never got around to it. Recently someone told me about a Wireless Bridge.
The only reason I am posting this is because I found a really great deal for a wireless-G Bridge for only $20 at compusa. Its a Viewsonic WAPBR-100 which lists for $60-$80. The sale ends June 30, 2005, after which the price probably goes back to $60..

Screw the seminars - there are three to five parties a night, with free food and alcohol and more music than you can shake an iPod at.

Not a problem if you're firewalled, but in case your server is not..
"Thousands of MySQL servers around the world are being infected with a worm which could facilitate a massive denial-of-service attack. Security experts have warned that thousands of MySQL servers around the world could be press-ganged into launching a denial-of-service attack that could bring down the Web site of a company the size of Microsoft.

Does anyone else experience a cache problem with Firebox (holds onto content even when the cache size is set to 500k).

My buddy Wally (ironically, a mac os user) recommended Microsoft's new anti-spyware application as a way to get rid of the HomeSearchAssistant browser hijack. It's in beta but runs just fine. The scan was much faster than Ad-Aware or SBS&D. If anyone could get rid of a hijack in IE, it would have to be microsoft as they are the only ones with the source, so I gave it a try...

I was a die-hard microsoft IE user for a very long time, but over the holidays my laptop became victim to adware, spyware and a browser hijacks. Once you get one it will multiply if you dont take care of it immediately. Malware these days is a lot more "effective" than it was just 6 months ago.. In the past, if you caught any non-virus bug, you'd run Ad-Aware or Spybot S&D and you'd be clean in a jiffy. No such luck these days.. in fact, an entire industry has spawned to deal with the epidemic.

The wait is finally over, the Mozilla Group just released FireFox 1.0, the first major new product release since the Mozilla Suite's 1.0 in June of 2002. Firefox 1.0 is the completion of roughly 2 years of work on the revolutionary new browser, which has raised the Mozilla Foundation's profile greatly in its year of existance. The release follows up the hugely successful Preview Release which had over eight million downloads. Get it while it's hot!
